academic and creative work at The Buffalo Seminary.

Rules of the Computer Room

• Leave book bags in hallway.

• Move through the lab slowly and carefully.

• No eating or drinking in the computer lab.

• Use headphones if you wish to play music.

• Please do not disturb students who are studying or doing homework.

• Using someone else’s username is an honor code violation.

• Please move chairs back carefully under the desks.

• Collect your printouts and personal belongings before leaving computer room.

Your User name is the first letter of you first name followed by your entire last name. There are no spaces and all are in lower case.Mary Smith’s user name is msmith

Hold down the Ctrl and Alt buttons on your keyboard and press the Del button

The first time you log on, your password is exactly the same as your user name.

 

You will be asked to change the password as soon as you log on. You should choose a password that you can remember, but not one that someone else could easily guess.

If you ever forget your password, please stop in to the tech office and it can be reset.

 

The school policy is that every 90 days, you will be asked to change your password.

As a user of the network, you have access to many of the resources on the network…..

but not all…..

If you have not turned in a signed “Acceptable Use Policy” contract, you will be able to use the files on the server, but you will not be able to use the internet.

Each member of the school (teachers, staff, students and parents) receive an Activation Code. This code will give you access to Edline the first time you log on.

After you log on the first time and set up your account, you will no longer need the code, but will have your own screen name and password to use as long as your are a member of Sem.
