9.1. IntrodutionMaterialsSlate. Slate the finest grained foliated homogeneous metamorphic rock. Foliation does not correspond to the sedimentary layering, but to planes perpendicular to the direction of metamorphic compression.Not every slate is good enough for roof tiles.
