The tradition of the Christmas tree began in Germany.Germans use to bring in branches of the tree during the
winter,because they remained green in the winter.

In southern Germany and Austria, Saint Nicklaus comes on
December 6th to put presents and candy in the shoes of good little girls and boys. Many cities have parades for
him--- but Saint Nicklaus does not come
alone!

Krampus or Knecht Ruprecht is a mean guy who comes with Krampus to punish the naughty
children! He’s pretty scary looking!
