The attached report shows all works (panel, stimulus businesses and town camp contractors), other than works awarded by non-Goverments organisations through stimulus grants, awarded under the $100m public housing stimulus by location, type of works and business (Attachment A). A further 51 businesses have been awarded 148 contracts through grants by non-Government organisations.
Works awarded to departmental trade panel contactors has been capped at $10 million under this program, and was primarily used at the start of the program and where non-panel contractors do not have capacity to carry out stimulus works.
In the early stages of the program some works were awarded to and completed by businesses that may not specialise in the type of work awarded (i.e. painting businesses doing driveways etc). Controls around business selection for quotes have been tightened in order mitigate this.
Businesses are provided with an equal opportunity to quote on works that they specialise in, in the region which they are located, however value for Territory will always determine which business is awarded the works.
