About this project

On Friday the 8th of October, I had this small idea: I wanted to do or de-sign something for the the 10.10.10 at 10:10, a date and time not to come around for another 100 years. So I came up with this social experiment,a photography project that everyone could join in, by taking a self-portaitphoto at the specific time - ten past ten, Sunday 10.10.2010.

I got started immediately by quickly designing a web banner and writing a small brief. I then published the banner to my site, and shared it with a newsletter to the people that follow my work as weel as to my facebook page, my twitter and tumbrl, deviantart, glossom, behance accounts.

Creating a facebook event page later helped the message to get across the web. I personally invited 788 facebook friends. I then made some of my friends administrators and by the end 5250 people had got an invitation.

After one week I’ve gathered submitions from 111 people. Most of them, (nintyseven) are taken at 10.10 a.m., and thirteen at 10 p.m., as some people just forgot or just weren’t awake at ten past ten in the morning. Also four people submited photos on both time periods.

Ι would like to thank every single one of the participants for their con-tribution and their colobaration. That was something special and I am guessing that next year - 11.11.2011 will be better!

A few days ago, I told my friend Apostolos that this particular date, the October 10, 2010 seems kind of sym-bolic because it contains 3 tens which, in a specific time of day, can become five.
