Intelligent Proximity

• Intelligent proximity is a capability that enables automatic detection of an end user device registered to

CUCM as a user comes within a certain range of an endpoint .

• As it detects the device it immediately allows them to view and share content from their own device.

• Today with your DX650, using blue tooth technology, your cell phone pairs up with the endpoint you are

using at your office. This will allow personal contact lists, phone books, etc. to pair with your DX650.

1. Expressway Traversal Server is installed in DMZ. Expressway Traversal Client is installed inside the enterprise network

2. The Expressway Client initiates a traversal connection through the firewall to specific ports on the Expressway Server

3. Expressway Client supplies credentials which are authenticated by Expressway, securing these connections

4. Once the connection has been established, a tunnel is created. The Client sends keep-alive packets to the server to

maintain the active connection

5. Upon receiving an incoming call, Expressway Server passes along the incoming call request to Expressway Client over

the existing tunnel

6. Expressway Client receives the incoming call request and routes the request to the called endpoint

7. The call is established and media traverses the firewall securely over an existing traversal connection
