School Council Elections School Council plays a key role in Victorian Government Schools. Participating in School Council is a rewarding and challenging experience. The role of the School Council is to support the Principal to provide the best possible outcomes for all students in the school. Notification of School Council elections was sent home and went up around the school on Monday 10th February. The closing date for nominations is Monday 17th February at 4.00pm. Nominations forms are available from the school office. School Crossings It has come to my attention that a number of students are not using the manned school crossing before and after school, particularly the Ashleigh Avenue crossing. For the safety of the students I encourage all parents to remind their children to use the manned crossing provided by the council. Camp Sport and Excursion Fund (CSEF) Applications A reminder to parents who hold a current Health Care Card as of 29th January, 2020 that applications for the Camp, Sport and Excursion Fund (CSEF) are now open. Forms have been sent home with the eldest child in a pack last week. Please complete the application form and attach a copy of your Health Care Card or Pensioner Card. Kiss and Go Parking Zone Just a reminder about the “Kiss and Go” parking area at the front of the school on Mallum Avenue. These are short term parking spaces of 2 minutes marked with supplementary “Kiss and Go” signs. The area is designated for only dropping off and picking up students and not for leaving your car to collect students from inside the school. Frankston Council has indicated they will enforce the parking restrictions. Newsletter 2020 Every family has received a paper copy of the newsletter this week, however only those families who request a paper copy will receive one from now on. Our newsletter is available on our school app: Flexibuzz and our website: www.karingalps.vic.gov.au. Karen Luff Principal
