RATIONALE FOR NEW DESIGNS

Our Heritage

Tan Tock Seng Hospital was established on 25 July 1844 at Pearl’s Hill with Mr Tan Tock Seng’s generous philantrophic donation of Spanish $7000.

A Peranakan by origin, he came from humble beginnings travelling from Malacca to settle down in Singapore. Through diligence and perseverance, he rose to become prominent businessman and philantropist.

Design Concept

Integrating key elements from our heritage, a humble beginning on Pearl’s Hill and our rich Peranakan Heritage.
