SummerWork,Grade2SummerworkatSt.Raymondisanimportantcomponentoftheacademicprogram.Thepurposeofsummerworkisto:1)Providespecificinstructionalpracticeonthoseessentialstandardsforentryintothenextgradelevel,and2)Providestructuredpracticeofessentialskills.Studentsaretopracticetheskills(asdetailedbelow)aminimumof400minutes(200minutesIXLMathand200minutesIXLLanguageArts).Thisencourages20minutesofpracticeforeachcontentareaweekly.Studentsmaycompleteminutesinthemannerthatbestsupportsfamilytravelandsummerplans(i.e.moreminutessomeweeksandfewerminutesotherweeks).Studentshaveunlimitedaccesstogradelevelcurriculumandaretocontinuetopracticethroughoutthesummerevenifmasteryoftheassignedstandard(100%)isaccomplished.Teacherswillviewthetimespentpracticing,problemspracticed,thenumberofskillsattempted/mastereduponreturntoschool.Classcreditwillbeassignedforcompletion.Pleasenote:
