Volume 10 Number 32
Deepen YourFellowship at FFCBy Joe Lightfoot
Pastor of Adult MinistriesFellowship with other
believers is extremely
important in living
out the principles
of the church.
A wonderfulway to
become
better con-
nected to the
community of
believers here
at First Federated
Church is through
our Fellowship elective.
The first three weeks
of this elective cover the
responsibilities and rewards
of membership at FFC. This
portion will be held on three
Sunday eveningsJanuary
11, 18 & 25, 6:00PM7:00PM,
in Room 108.
The following 5 weeks
are focused on a study of
how God has shaped you to
be an active, contributing
member of His church.
These five sessions will
be held on Sunday morn-
ingsFebruary 1, 8, 15, 22and March 1, at 9:15AM, also
in Room 108.
If you are interested in
becoming a member of FFC
and understanding how
God has equipped you for
ministry, you can register for
this group in the foyer, on
the Care & Communication
Card, or by calling Julie
Denger at 255-2122, ext. 116.
Shoes for Oakridge KidsBy Tracy Griess, Elementary Director
The shoes were lined on the stairs with carein hopes that the children would soon be there. But the weather was bitter, the bus wouldnt start,
so the shoes were delivered--our gifts from the heart.
Because of your generosity, 103 children fromthe Homes of Oakridge each received a gift bag
filled with a new pair of shoes, a stocking cap,
mittens, socks, a Bible, book or DVD and other
Christmas goodies.
The Oakridge families had been invited to
attend our Christmas celebration and were to be
the guests of honor at a reception following the
service. Unfortunately, the bus that was to bring
them would not start in last Sundays arctic cold.
Thanks to hardy Federated volunteers who braved
the frigid weather, the gifts were delivered later
directly to the homes of the children.
Thank you to everyone who helped by purchas-ing shoes or donating funds, as well as those who
assisted by coordinating, preparing and distributing
the gifts. You have
been a blessing. As
Jesus told his follow-
ers in Matthew 25:40,
Whatever you did
for one of the least of
these brothers of mine
you did for me.
