. Tim.Hall.is.in.his.20th.year.as.a.member.of.the.USC.Aiken.athletic.department..Hall first joined the program in 1990 as a graduate assistant. In 1993 he was hired on.as.the.university’s.fulltime.NCAA.Compliance.Coordinator.
. In.August.�997,.the.Batesburg-Leesville.native.was.promoted.to.Assistant.Athletic.Director... In.September.2003,.Hall.was.promoted.again,.this.time.to.the.position.of.Associate.Athletic.Director.for.Administration.and.External.Services.. In.this.role,.Hall.oversees.NCAA.compliance.and.academic.support..In.addition,.he.assists.with.home.game.administration.and.fundraising.. A.�990.graduate.of. the.University.of.South.Carolina,.Hall. received.his.Bachelor.of.Science. in.Sports.Administration..In.�992,.he.earned.a.Master’s.in.Student.Personnel.Services.from.USC.as.well. Aiken, a native of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., joined the USCA training staff in 1997 as.a.graduate.assistant..He.served.in.that.capacity.for.three.years.until.stepping.into.the.head.position.in.2000.. A.�997.graduate.of.Saint.Andrews.Presbyterian.College.in.Laurinburg,.N.C.,.Aiken.received.his.Bachelor.of Science in Sports Medicine. Aiken is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the.National.Strength.and.Conditioning.Association.(NSCA).. Kucharski.completed.his.graduate.studies.at.the.University.of.Utah,.where.he.bowled.for.the.Utes.in.the Inter-Mountain Collegiate Conference. TheUniversityofSouthCarolinaAikenwascharteredin1961afterenteringintoanagreementwiththeUniversityofSouthCarolinatoestablishatwo-yearcenterinAiken. TheAikenCenteropeneditsdoorsinSeptember1961to139students.Tem-porarilyhousedinBanksia,arenovatedmansioninAiken,theCenterconsistedofthreefull-timefacultymembers(oneofwhomservedasDirectoroftheCenter). In1968,theCenterunderwentaninstitutionalself-studyandwasaccreditedbytheSouthernAssociationofCollegesandSchoolsasabranchoftheUniversityofSouthCarolinaandasajuniorcollege. The first associate degreeswereawardedinJune1968. ThecampusofUSCAikenmovedfromBanksiatoitspresentsitein1972andphysicalchangesbegantooccur rapidly. At first, the permanentcampusconsistedof100acresandonemultipur-posebuildingwhichhousedalluniversityoperations.Alibrarywascompletedin1975,andad-ditionallandwasdonatedthatincreasedthecampusto144
acres.InOctober1977,theStudentActivitiesCenterwasopened.Aclassroombuildingwasoccupiedin1978,andoneyearlater,anauxiliaryservicesbuildingwasadded. Anapartmentcomplexforstudents,PacerDowns,wasreadyforoccupancyinthefallof1984.Moreconstructionad-ditionstothecampusincludedcompletionoftheEtherredgeCenter,RuthPatrickScienceEducationCenter,theBusi-nessandEducationBuilding,andtheAlanB.MillerNursingBuilding.Additionallandwasacquiredincreasingthecampusto400acres. Academicandorgani-zationalchangesalsooccurredrapidly.Thefacultyformal-izeditsorganizationalstructureand redefined its role in the governanceoftheinstitutionin1974-75.Also,thestudentsre-organizedtheirgoverningbodyand more precisely defined theirroleoncampus;thead-ministrationandstaffstructureswereoverhauledandexpandedtomeetthedemandsofthegrowingacademicprograms. Whenthefull-timeequivalentstudentenrollmentreached1,066inthefallof1975,theUSCAikencam-puswaspermittedtoplanforseniorlevelcoursesandtocre-ateanumberofbaccalaureatedegreeprograms.Inthatsameyear,USCAreceivedapprovalasafour-yearbranchcampusbytheBoardofTrusteesoftheUniversityofSouthCarolina,andUSCAwasdesignateda
RecognizedCandidateforSeniorCollegeAccreditation.InSep-tember1976,theBoardofTrust-eesgrantedacademicautonomyto the Aiken Campus. The first bachelor’sdegreesweregrantedinMay1977,andUSCAbecameafullyaccreditedseniorcollege. Presently,thecollegecommunityiscomprisedofmorethan3,200students,over100full-timefaculty,approxi-mately110staffmembers,and28administrators.USCAawardsbachelor’sdegreesinmorethan20majorareasofstudy,master’sdegreesintwoareas,andoffersavariedprogramofcontinuingeducationcoursesforthewidercommunity. TodayUSCAikenoffersstudentsaliberaleducationde-signedtodevelopanunderstand-ingofhumanexperiencewhichwillequipthemforlifeinafreesociety.Toaccomplishthis,theUniversityprovidesstudentswithanopportunitytodiscoverlearn-ingprocesseswhichenablethemtogrowpersonallyandsocially. Itpromotesstudents’interactionwithinacommunityofactivescholarsandartists,anditencouragesstudentstousetheknowledgewhichtheygaintodealwiththeproblemsofarapidlychangingworld.

As.USC.Aiken.Athletics.has.grown,.its.place.in.the.context.of.the.University.as.a.whole.has.evolved..With.heightened.importance.comes.the.need.for.new.tools.for.success..The.Convocation.Center,.opened.in.April.2007,.is.the.grandest.tool.yet.that.will.equip.the.Pacer.programs.with.opportunities.to.succeed.. A.vision.some.�5.years.in.the.making,.the.construction.of.the.facil-ity.came.to.fruition.only.because.of.the.dedicated,.hard.work.of.campus.and.community.leaders..As.everyone.bought.into.the.idea,.the.resources.were.raised.to.make.this.dream.a.reality..Funding.for.the.�7.million.dol-lar,.�00,000.square.foot.facility.came.from.both.public.and.private.sources.

The.main.arena.has.a.seating.capacity.of.3,600.for.athletic.events..
The.men’s.and.women’s.basketball.and.volleyball.teams.will.all.practice.and.hold.home.events.in.the.arena,.which.has.state-of-the-art.sound.and.scoreboard.systems. One practice floor is located on each.side.of.the.arena.above.the.main.competition floor, allowing the possi-bility.for.up.to.three.teams.to.practice.simultaneously.. Overlooking.the.main.competition.floor is the VIP room, which gives the department.a.facility.with.a.beautiful.backdrop.to.host.meetings,.confer-ences,.or.banquets.. Now.entering.its.2�st.year.of.existence.in.20�0-��,.the.Peach.Belt.Conference.has.become.one.of.the.elite.Division.II.conferences.in.the.nation..Since.its.inception.in.�990-9�,.the.Peach.Belt.has.developed.a.consistent.history.of.excellence.which.continues.to.this.day.with.29.national.champion-ships and 25 national finalists.. Starting.with.only.two.championships.in.�99�,.in.men’s.and.women’s.basketball,.the.conference.has.expanded.to.�3.championship.sports.with.the.addition.of.women’s.golf.in.the.fall.of.2009.. The.conference.traces.its.roots.back.to.November.of.�988.when 11 schools first met in Greenville,.S.C..to.form.a.Division.II.conference..Following.a.second.meeting on Dec. 3, 1989, five of those.��.schools,.plus.two.others,.formed.the.Peach.Belt.and.begin.play.in.fall.�990.. The.Peach.Belt.was.less.than.a.year.old.before.capturing.a.national.championship..The.Columbus.State.golf.team.took.the.honor.by.winning.the.�992.national crown, the first of three golf.championships.the.Cougars.own..One.year.later,.the.Lander.men’s.tennis.team.began.their.record-breaking.run.of.eight.
straight national titles, the first PBC.dynasty..Since.then,.USCA.men’s.golf.has.won.three.straight.national.titles.from.2004-06.while.Armstrong.Atlantic.State.women’s.tennis.has.captured.four.titles.overall.. The.2009-�0.season.was.among.the.most.successful.the.league.has.seen.in.its.20.years...Armstrong.Atlantic.State.won.their.third.consecutive.women’s.tennis.national.championship.while.the.Augusta.State.men’s.basketball.team.continued.their.unprec-edented.run.with.a.third.straight.appearance.in.the.Elite.Eight..Flagler became the first PBC volleyball.team.to.reach.the.NCAA.Final.Four...The.North.Georgia.softball.team.was.ranked.#�.in.the.nation.in.every.regular-season.softball poll while, in all, five PBC programs.were.ranked.#�.in.the.nation.(GC.men’s.golf,.ASU.men’s.basketball,.AASU.men’s.and.women’s.tennis).. The.seven.charter.members.of.the.conference.were.Armstrong.Atlantic.State.University,.Columbus.State.University,.Francis.Marion.University,.Georgia.College,.Lander.University,.USC.Aiken.and.USC.Upstate..The.name.Peach.Belt.Athletic.Conference.was.adopted.in.January of 1990 and modified to Peach.Belt.Conference.in.May.of.2000. Both.seem.to be a nice fit, as each.one.compli-ments.the.other..USCA.and.Mike.Brandt.emphasize.many.of.the.same.traits.in.their.philosophy.and.teachings.. In.
coaching.circles,.Brandt.is.regarded.as.one.of.the.leading.coaches.that.will.teach.his.team.to.run.the.Flex.Offense..The.Flex.is.a.disciplined.and.continuity.offense.that.most.teams.fear.trying.to.defend. Many of the ‘locals’ enjoy watching the flow of the offense and can see the play developing prior to witnessing.a.great.back-cut.for.a.lay-up.or.a.wide.open.three-point.shot.for.a.shooter..There.are.many.options.for.players.as.they.run.the.offense.and.it.is.usually.easy.to.spot.the.players.that.have.experienced.success.executing.that.playing.style.. MoodyplayedherhighschoolbasketballforGarnerHighSchool.DuringhersenioryearatGarner,Moodyaveragedsixpoints,sevenre-boundsandthreeblockspergame.Shewas selected first team All-Conference intheGreaterNeuseConferenceforhereffortsoverthecourseoftheseason. Moodyhelpedleadherhighschoolteamtoback-to-backregularsea-sonconferencechampionshipsandatournamentchampionshipduringhertimeatGarner.ForherAAUteam,theGarnerFlames,shehelpedguidetheteam to the Eastern Regional Championship in 2007 and a fourth place finish inthestateofNorthCarolina. OneofthecornerstonesoftheUSCAikenwomen’sbasketballprogram(aswellasaDivisionIIinitiative)isCommunityEngagementandServiceprojects.Therearenumerousreasonsforstayinginvolvedinthecommunity,whichincludeformingabondwiththeyouthinandaroundAiken,helpingandservingothersthatarelessfortunate,recognizingothersfortheiraccomplishmentsandhardwork(breastcancersurvivors,teachersandprofessors,GirlScouts),andshowingappreciationforthecontinuedsupportthatwereceivefromthecommunity.
ThePacershavebeeninvolvedinseveraleventsthroughouttheAikencommunity,includingstartingtheJuniorPacers.TheJuniorPacersprogramwasstartedin2008asawayforchildreninthecommunitytobecomeinvolvedwiththeLadyPacers.JuniorPacersareinvitedtoparticipateinthePacers’Meet&GreetDay,havelunchwiththePacers,visitthelockerroomafteragame,andwillreceiveaJuniorPacerst-shirt.
