In addition, they also benefit from the Fairtrade Premium paid

directly to worker committees or the producer organization for

community improvements that they democratically decide on.

with Standards for hired labour.

Since most plantations contract with

non-migratory workers and tea is

produced year-round, it is easier to

ensure that the benefits of Fairtrade

reach workers.
