Bishop Bonello of the Diocese of Juticalpa gave us a tour of his relocated offices and residence.

We met with the Sisters of the Poor Clare’s Convent

Noviate Maria Inez is a graduate of the Trade School and will taker her vows on August 11, 2012

We spent time with the children at the Hogar de Niños (orphanage)

We worked with the 1st and 2nd Grade Bilingual Students at the Trade School

Hilda and Bob talked to the Trade School students about life in the U.S.A.

Katie and Chris taught the students English

Laurie and Hilda worked with the Business Management Class

Alma taught jewelry making

Steve spent time with students in the carpentry class room

Laurie, Katie and Steve taught English to the students at the Plancitos school

The students at Plancitos did a folk dancing demonstration and gave Katie and Chris lessons

We visited the Majastre Aldeas

The Delegados de la Palabra (Delegate of the Word) led a worship service

The people of Majastre sang to us

A teacher from the school invited us to her home to have dinner with her family

We participated in the Trade School Staff Appreciation Dinner

We attended a Mass with the students and then sang both country’s National Anthems

The Mass was said for the 14 Martyrs who were assassinated on June 25, 1975 near Juticalpa

The Trade School students held a Science Fair

At the Science Fair, a group of Trade School students showed us the scale model of their vision of the trade school campus in 2020. An

amazing project that gives us a lot to think about.

Chris West was the goalie in a soccer game pitting the Trade School against the Salama

Aldeas in an interschool tournament

Katie kicks out the first ball at the interschool soccer game

The team painted some Trade School walls

We met with the Good Shepherd Scholarship recipients

At last, we met Nelson’s wife, Maria and children.

Finally, in the evening we took time to reflect…

Until we meet again, adios…
