2013 CENSUS

Census

The census is the official count of

how many people and dwellings we have in New Zealand.

Information from the census helps determine how billions of dollars of government funding is spent in the community.

The census is held once every five years.

How does the Census help me?

Resources are allocated to provide your whanau with education, health, housing and transport

If you are not counted your whanau may miss out on vital services

You are missing out on services that belong to you – YOU COUNT!

3

Northland Under Counted

Estimated at least 3000 people not ever counted

Each person is worth $3000 of population health funding every year

That’s 10 Million dollars we are not allocated from central government every year for healthcare

This does not include funding for other services such as education, transport and roading
