Mexico
Well, it's probably the way around: Alexander Girard looks like any other Mexican person (if we talk about how tiles...).
Anyway, the article is interesting and well written. Here the link: http://observatory.designobserver.com/.../not.../38354/

The creative factory is a collective of designers reclaiming control over their creations. Within an empty factory in Eindhoven they create their individual production line, their machines, tools and products, while establishing relationships with the community around them. The creative factory suggests an alternative to industrialization, production and consumption.

Sometimes, all it takes is a man with vision -- and a complete lack of taste.
The Tragedy In The US Museum sign L.H. "Buddy" Hough was such a man. When President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, Buddy was suddenly inspired. Why not create a museum dedicated to all the bad things that have happened in United States history?

Florida
This website is truly fantastic!
Once upon a time, before the giant mouse ate Orlando and Interstate Highways were built to cattle chute the tourists directly into International Drive, there was another Florida.
It was somewhen between Henry Ford's mass production of the Model-T, which made automobile touring a commonplace, and Walt Disney's mass production of the tourist experience, which made the road trip a mere way to get there, instead of the there itself. It was the age of the roadside attraction.

The Million Dollar Homepage was a phenomenon in 2005, but almost a decade on, it stands as a monument to the fragility of the internet: over one-fifth of the links on the site are dead.

Use-It Milan
This is the description from the website:
We live a city more beautiful than you can believe, less expensive than you can fear, with more history than it can remember or that is able to tell. Milan. In Milan, for example, we have some of the cleanest water in Italy and there are hundreds of cute little drinking fountains.

Circos!
Circos is a software package for visualizing data and information. It visualizes data in a circular layout this makes Circos ideal for exploring relationships between objects or positions. There are other reasons why a circular layout is advantageous, not the least being the fact that it is attractive.

Patatap
Here the weblink: http://www.patatap.com/
Here the explanation:This might be the most fun youll ever have with your computer keyboard: a new website called Patatap turns the keys of A to Z into a musical instrument-slash-animation kit, letting you escape into trippy private jam sessions. It reminds us of why kids find banging on Tupperware so endlessly entertaining.
Designer Jono Brandel, a member of Google Creative Labs Data Arts Team, collaborated with Japanese composer duo Lullatone to create Patatap. Pressing any key from A to Z sparks different sounds, from bells and snaps to pew-pewing lasers and alien spaceship landings. Each is accompanied by a vibrant abstract animation. Hitting the spacebar switches everything up: the color scheme, the sounds, and the animations.

Atacama Desert
For nearly a decade, photographer Rachel Sussman has been traveling the globe in search of the world's oldest living things.
From the Mojave Desert to the Australian Outback to Greenland's icy expanses, she captures portraits of life forms so relentless they've managed to survive eons of planetary change.

What looks like moss covering rocks is actually a very dense, flowering shrub that happens to be a relative of parsley, living in the extremely high elevations of the Atacama Desert.

Norway
They have already given us a slow train to Bergen, a six-day ferry cruise on the fjords and an eight-and-a-half hour knitting epic.
Now the channel behind Norway's marathon "Slow TV" broadcasts billed as an antidote to the frantic data overload of the internet and twitter has excelled itself with Piip Show, a strangely addictive "reality-TV show with wild birds".

Rory's Story Cubes
Originally developed as a creative problem solving tool, Rorys Story Cubes uses story metaphor to draw out insights. It works because the brain thinks in pictures and will make lateral connections between the images and the question you are working on.

Monte Albn
While most people are familiar with the Aztecs and the Maya of Mesoamerica, the people known as the Zapotec remain relatively obscure.
Among the first people in the area to use agricultural and writing systems, they also built one of the earliest recognized cities in North AmericaMonte Alban.
Founded in the fifth century B.C., the city was home to a maximum of 25,000 citizens and lasted for over 1,200 years. In Monte Alban, a privileged class made up of priests, warriors, and artists ruled over the lower classes.

This is how Penelope Umbrico explains her project:
This is a project I started when I found 541,795 pictures of sunsets searching the word sunset on the image hosting website, Flickr. I cropped just the suns from these pictures and uploaded them to Kodak, making 4" x 6" machine prints from them.

JWT Londons GIFs Exhibition
Although many people might refer to animated GIFs as the cool new thing due to their massive boom on mainstream media, they are not that new Au contraire my friends! Animated GIFs have been around for many, many years.
To celebrate their awesomeness and how much they have evolved since they first appeared and internet cats became famous, JWT London organized a fun and hypnotic animated GIFs exhibition called Loop, featuring some of the most recognized and talented names in the business such as Robin Davey, Paolo Ceric, David Pope, Ian Acton, and many more.
