This report summarizes the membership and activities conducted by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru
Student Chapter of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute during the 2018-2019 academic year.
MISSION & GOALS
The mission of the EERI PUCP Student Chapter is to contribute to society in the reduction of seismic risk through
activities within the university community, and also in Peru. In this way, a space of multidisciplinary interaction
will be generated that allows to promote the study and research in seismic and structural engineering. By doing
social responsibility activities, the people will be aware of the importance of knowledge about earthquakes
and the adequate construction of houses.
Vision: To become a space of relationship for the professionals of different disciplines that work in the field of
earthquakes where they can develop ideas that contribute to consolidate and improve the knowledge in
earthquake issues in Peru and the world. In this way, information about housing construction in our country can
be disseminated through research.
Role: Make EERI PUCP a recognized association in the field of research and dissemination of information on
earthquake risk reduction both in Peru in cooperation with the EERI and other chapters around the world for the
safety and welfare of Peru.

BUDGET & FINANCIALS
The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru Student Chapter of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute has
certain economic activities to supply basic needs of different areas.
CHAPTER ACTIVITIES
REGULAR CHAPTER MEETINGS
The president holds the meetings twice a month and each area gives details of what they have accomplished.
During these meetings, the progress of each area is evaluated and members ‘opinions are received to improve
the performance of each one.
We are currently writing the bases of the Building Bridge EERI Contest (BBEC).
Students of Civil Engineering Associations’ meeting
The organization presented its work to the students of Civil Engineering on March 28th 2019.
ELECTION & ELECTION RESULTS
An election for officers for the 2019-2020 academic year was held in June 2019. The table below shows the new
officers appointed to the Chapter board who will take office on July 2019.
