Summer Camps
Summer Day Camp
Summer Day Camp is a recreational based camp
focusing on active and passive group games, arts
and craft activities, enrichment experiences,
specialists, and field trips.
Structured activities and field trips will occur
between 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Early drop-off is
from 7:30 am - 9:00 am and late pick-up is from
4:30 - 6:00 pm. Campers need to bring a lunch
and 2 snacks to camp everyday.
Campers should be prepared to have a great time
and make some new friends!
Camp is staffed with trained and experienced
counselors that go through training focused on
working with school aged campers.
You can register for camp on a weekly basis. This
brochure contains all the necessary information
to get your camper registered along with camp
policies and procedures.

Camp Fee
Day Camp is $105.00 for Residents and $125.00
for Non-Residents, per week.
A $25.00 non-refundable deposit will be due (per
child, per week) at the time of registration. The
deposit is included in the weekly camp fee
amount. It will be applied toward your total
balance but non-refundable if you withdraw from
that week of camp. Weekly deposits for
non-residents is $45 per week ($25 deposit and
$20 non-resident fee).
A $10.00 late fee will be added to registrations
received 2 weeks or less before the camp start
date.
Summer Safari Camp
This camp is jam packed with activities, field trips
and fun!
Summer Safari campers will go on five to eight field
trips a week to various destinations. Some of
those include roller skating, museums, indoor
inflatables, swimming, bowling or movies just to
name a few. Campers will also have art and craft
projects and enrichment experiences. Buckle up
for a summer full of fun!
Campers should be prepared to have a great time
and make some new friends!

Medical Information:
Only medication that is medically necessary and cannot be scheduled outside of the camp hours will be administered during the
program. No participant should be in possession of prescription or non-prescription medication without the knowledge of the camp
staff. Any participant that must receive medication during the camp must have an Assisted Administration form on file. Camp staff will
maintain, provide and monitor the consumption of prescription and non-prescription medication.
Medication forms can be obtained by calling the Rolesville Parks & Recreation department at 919-554-6582 and they can be sent via

Welcome to the Town of Rolesville’s summer camps!
Age requirement for summer camp is determined by
the campers age as of August 31, 2018.
Registration Information
This brochure has all of the information necessary for
registration. Incomplete registration forms will not be
processed. We will attempt to contact you for any
missing information and your registration will be in a
pending status until information is received.
Fill out one registration form per child. For questions,

Registration starts February 1, 2018 and we will begin
processing registration forms as we receive them.

You will receive a registration confirmation via e-mail
for your camper. Please make sure you provide a
valid e-mail address on page 9. The confirmation
e-mail will include the week or weeks your camper is
registered.

Camp Fees
Day Camp: $105 - R / $125 - NR (per week)
*July 3-7: $84 - R / $104 - R
Summer Safari: $230 - R / $250 - NR (per week)

Payment
In-Person: Payments may be made with cash, credit/
debit card, check, or money order.
Online: Payments may be made with a credit/debit
card.
The Town offers two payment options:
1. Full payment included with registration forms.
Payment in full is required if registering for four (4)
or fewer weeks of camp.
2. Payment Plan: $25 deposit per week required at
the time of registration. You will be invoiced to
make the remaining weekly registration fee two
weeks before that week of camp starts. Weekly
deposits for non-residents is $45 per week ($25
deposit and $20 non-resident fee). A $10 late fee
will be charged is registering less than two weeks in
advance of the camp week start date.
General Camp Information

tend Rolesville camp for all four weeks of

By signing on pages 3 and 4, I am acknowledging that:

The Town of Rolesville does not provide participant
insurance
In the event of an emergency, the Town of Rolesville will
make every attempt to contact the parent/guardian.
I authorize Town of Rolesville staff to seek appropriate
medical care if a parent/guardian cannot be reached.
Information provided on the participant information form is
accurate and current.
Age Verification
The Town of Rolesville reserves the right to ask for a legal
document verifying the participant age. If it is not provided within
two business days, the participant may be dismissed from the
camp. No refund will be given.
Assisted Medication Policies and Procedures
Town of Rolesville employees only administer medication to
participants if:
1. Town of Rolesville form for assisted administration of
medication is completed and in the possession of Town staff.
2. Town of Rolesville employee will give medications that are in
an original container with appropriate medicine contained
within, with a visible label including the name of medication,
the date of expiration, clear dosage amount and directions
with the participant’s name clearly indicated on the bottle/
box.
The Parent/Guardian is responsible for the following with ALL
medication:
1. Complete and sign the portion of the form and return to the
program staff.
2. Provide medication in an original container with visible label
including the name of medication, the date of expiration,
clear dosage amount and administration directions with the
participant’s name clearly indicated. Note: Inhalers outside
the original package must be accompanied by a copy of the
original package label noting the above information.
3. Provide new, labeled containers if/when medication changes
are made.
4. Parents/guardian must transport medication to program site
and give directly to program staff.
5. Parent/guardian must pick up medication at the end of each
week/program from program staff. Medications not picked up
at the end of 14 business days following the last day of partici-
pation in the program will be disposed of by Town of Rolesville
staff.
6. Town of Rolesville staff will return any empty medicine
container(s) to participant’s parent/guardian.
7. For prescription medications: The pharmacy label will serve as
the physician’s authorization for the medication to be
administered. Have the pharmacist label two containers: one
for home use and one for use in the program, if the participant
is to receive medication at both sites.
8. If the medication is an EPI pen or inhaler, it is recommended
(not required) that the pharmacist label two containers to
keep at the program site. The parent/guardian should check
to ensure the medication does not exceed the printed
expiration date. Program staff will not accept expired
medication.
9. For non-prescription medications: The medication must be
administered according to the dosage and administration
i n s t r u c t i o n s o n t h e o r i g i n a l c o n t a i n e r .
*A physician’s signature will be required as authorization IF
medication is requested to be given to an alternate dosage, etc.
10. Parents/guardians should notify program staff as soon as
possible if there are any changes to instructions for the
administration of medication once this form has been
submitted. A new form may be required.

Field Trips
The Town of Rolesville will transport participants off-site in
vehicles contracted by the Town. If a participant arrives after the
camp has left the camp site, the parent/guardian can do either:
Take the participant to the field trip location and sign-in
participant with Town staff
Take the participant to the camp site when the camp has
returned from the field trip
Food
Any food brought into camp that is to be served to camp
participants must be store bought with labeled ingredient
information. Due to allergy concerns, homemade food items will
not be accepted. Campers will not be able to warm lunches up at
camp.
Injury/Illness
Any participant shall remain home from camp if they have had any
of the following in the past 24 (twenty-four) hours:
Contagious condition (fever, diarrhea, undiagnosed rash,
chicken pox, pink eye, head lice, etc.).
Physical injury that permits the participant from safely
participating in camp.
If a participant demonstrates any of the above symptoms at camp,
the parent/guardian will have one hour to up the participant from
camp. If the participant becomes sick during camp, they will be
separated from the camp until they are picked up. A participant
must be 24 hours symptom free before returning to camp or
written document has been received that the participant is no
longer contagious.
Late Pick-Up
If a participant is not picked up by 6 pm, they will be charged a
late fee. The late fee is: $5 for the first 10 (ten) minutes late, then
$1 per minute, per child, afterwards. Continual late pick-ups can
result in dismissal from camp.
Babysitting
Babysitting arrangements with current or former Town of
Rolesville staff are separate and independent from any Town of
Rolesville program. The Town of Rolesville will not be liable or
responsible for any claims in regards to babysitting activities.
Behavior Management
We encourage the use of positive reinforcement for behavior
management. For behavior problems, our department practices
the following:
1. Participant given a verbal warning about behavior.
2. If behavior persists, it will be communicated with the parent/
guardian to see what strategies can be developed as a
solution.
3. If behavior continues, an incident report will be written.
4. Additional behavior concerns will result in a second incident
report and a 2-day suspension from camp.
5. If behavior persists, a third incident report will be written and
can include participant dismissal from camp without refund.
6. For serious offense such as, bullying, verbal threats,
possession of weapons, safety issue, the participant can
face immediate dismissal from camp without refund.
Camp Reminders
Bring a lunch and two snacks to camp everyday along with
drinks. Bring a bathing suit and/or change of clothes on swim
days. Pack a change of clothes daily, if needed.

Dress Code
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, cool clothing
and athletic shoes. If inappropriate attire is worn and prohibits
the participant from participating in camp activities, the parent/
guardian may be asked to bring appropriate clothing or be
required to pick up the participant.
Unacceptable Attire: Flip-flops/sandals, spaghetti straps, clothing
with drug, tobacco, gang, sexual or alcohol references or
pictures, excessively tight or loose clothing, Crocs, 2-piece
bathing suits.
Electronic Devices
No electronic devices are allowed (cellphones, MP3 players,
gaming devices, tablets, etc.) Staff reserves the right to
confiscate such devices from participants and will be returned to
the parent/guardian at the end of the day. The Town of
Rolesville is not responsible for lost or stolen electronic devices.

Lost/Stolen Items
The Town of Rolesville is not responsible for any personal items
lost, stolen or left at camp.
Non-Discrimination
The Town of Rolesville Parks & Recreation Department does not
discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex,
religion, age, sexual orientation or disability in employment
opportunities or the provision of services, programs or activities. A
participant alleging discrimination on the basis of any of the
aforementioned areas may file a complaint with the Director of the
Rolesville Parks & Recreation Department.
Participant Sign-Out
Legal guardians and other individuals listed on the participant
registration form as an authorized pick-up person will be required
to show valid photo ID listing their name and address to verify a
person’s identity. Parent/guardian should inform staff of any
changes to the authorized pick-up list in writing as soon as
possible. Only parents/guardians whose signature is on the
registration form will be authorized to make changes to person’s
listed as authorized pick-up. Parent/guardian should notify staff
is someone is not on the authorized pick-up list will be picking up
the camper and will be required to show a valid picture ID.
Participants will not be released without proper photo ID and/or
confirmation of pick-up by the parent/guardian.
Payment
Please see page 5 for payment information.
Personal Care
The Town of Rolesville does not provide personal care for
participants. Town of Rolesville staff cannot assist in the
toileting of participants or help with dressing. All participants are
potty trained and must be able to change their clothing, if soiled.
If a toileting accent occurs, a change of clothes must be brought
to the camp within one hour of the incident. If accidents become
routine, participants may be dismissed from camp.
Photography/Video Waiver
Pictures or video clips may be taken by Town of Rolesville staff
while involved with Town sponsored programs. By enrolling
participant into camp, the Parent/guardian expressly grants the
Town of Rolesville permission to use such pictures and video
clips for marketing materials, training and other program
activities. Participant names and/or information will not be
disclosed when used by Town of Rolesville staff.
Release and Indemnity Agreement
I, the parent/guardian of the above named participant, do hereby
give my permission for his/her participation in the Rolesville
Parks and Recreation program. I assume all risks and hazards
incurred in the conduct of activities, and transportation to and
from activities, if any. I further hereby release, absolve,
indemnify and hold harmless the Rolesville Parks & Recreation,
its employees, staff and volunteers acting on behalf of the
Rolesville Parks & Recreation. In the event of an injury to my
child, I agree to allow the persons acting on behalf of the
Rolesville Parks & Recreation to seek medical attention in my
absence. I further agree to follow all rules and procedures of the
program and to follow the reasonable instruction from Rolesville
Parks & Recreation staff. I/we certify that we have read and
agree to the terms stated above and that the information is
correct to the best of my/our knowledge.
Refunds
A refund request form must be completed and received by Parks
and Recreation staff 14 days or more before the program start
date. Those received 14 days or more in advance are entitled to:
100% refund if the department cancels the program
100% refund (minus the weekly $25 non-refundable
deposit), for requests received in writing 14 days or more
before camp week start date.
Non-attendance or non-participation does not entitle a
patron to a refund.

Schedule Changes
The Town of Rolesville reserves the right to alter schedules, fees,
field trips and instructors as necessary. Camps are subject to
cancellation if minimum enrollment numbers are not met.
Sunscreen & Insect Repellent
Parents are encouraged to apply sunscreen and/or insect
repellent on campers before arriving at camp. Campers are
allowed to bring their own personal sunscreen and/or insect
repellent to camp provided that it is labeled with their name and
they are able to apply it to themselves. Staff cannot assist with
the application and campers cannot share sunscreen or insect
repellent.
Swimming
Pool staff will conduct a swimming test for all program
participants. Non-swimmers and those that do not pass the swim
test will wear lifejackets. Staff reserves the right to place a
camper in a lifejacket in the interest of safety. Parents/
guardians may request their child wear a lifejacket regardless of
the swim test results.
The swim test will require all participants to swim the length of
the pool without touching the bottom or sides or needing
assistance. Town staff will keep track of those that have passed
the swim test and those that need to wear a lifejacket.
Transfers/Withdrawals
If you need to transfer from a week of camp, it must be sent in
writing via e-mail to: Julie.Allred@rolesville.nc.gov. If you need to
withdraw from a week of camp, a refund request form must be
filled out and brought to the Parks & Recreation Office or it can
be e-mailed to: Julie.Allred@rolesville.nc.gov.
Waitlist Notifications
If a spot becomes available in camp, participant will be notified by
telephone and e-mail by Town of Rolesville staff. They will have 24
hours to accept the space and make payment. If notification is
not received from the parent/guardian within 24 hours staff will
move on to the next person on the waiting list.

kids inside for the afternoon. And my two
girls were also happy about it. During
their week at Rolesville, they came home
happy - tired from a full day of camp but a
