2019 PITCHit Western NSW Partnership Prospectus
PITCHit Western NSW is an exciting new annual Western NSW Local Health District event that focuses on and encourages a culture of research and innovation by supporting LHD staff to launch or progress their idea - no matter how big or small. We know our staff are natural innovators and have great ideas about how they and their teams can improve our system, better the patient experience, enhance the delivery of healthcare and minimise waste.
The 2019 PITCHit Western NSW event is proudly supported by our 2019 Major Partner, Newcrest Mining’s Cadia Valley Operations, who have generously provided seed funding for this event.
The goals of PITCHit Western NSW are:
Capture the hearts and minds of our staff and teams across the District to think outside the box to make a change - no matter how big or small
Infuse a culture of research and innovation
PITCHit Western NSW gives staff the opportunity to potentially apply for larger competitive grant applications in the future
Encourage both junior and senior clinicians and managers to submit applications and participate
Be a streamlined and efficient process with which staff can apply and receive funding
PITCHit Western NSW winning ideas will be supported with mentoring and support from District staff where able
The 2019 PITCHit Western NSW event will be held on Thursday 8 August 2019 from 12noon-6pm at the Orange Agricultural Institute. An expert panel of judges from across NSW will judge PITCHit presentations, with winners announced and celebrated on the day.
We look forward to having you involved!

We have been successful with three competitive NSW Health Translational Research Grants from 2016-2019, totalling over $760k for the region
We have proudly supported the Western NSW Health Research Network (WHRN) since it began in 2014, and signed a three-year partnership to ensure strong research collaboration in 2018
