Fall Creek’s fourth and fifth graders will be taking the state test, STAAR, on April 2nd and 3rd. The state mandates that NO VISTORS will be permit-ted in the building during the STAAR testing. Ad-ditionally, the workroom will be closed and all vol-unteer activities are cancelled. Please do not schedule dental and doctor appointments for this date for 4th or 5th graders. Make sure your child has a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast. Thank you for your help in making these two days great for our students.

Reminders:
• We would like to remind you that Kindergarten dismissal begins promptly at 1:50. We will be-
gin dismissing as soon as all classes are seated.
• Having your child read to you every night builds fluency and increases sight word knowledge.
Your child will improve when he or she reads each night.
• Please make sure you check and thoroughly read the notes in your child’s folder every day.
There also may be homework in your child’s folder to complete.
We ask that you monitor your child’s lunch account to make sure there are sufficient funds.

Casino Party
Dear Parents, Teachers & Friends of FCE,
I want to express my appreciation for your generosity in the support of the Casino Party - "Going All In For Fall Creek Elementary." Your personal commitment was instrumental in helping us not only reach our goal but surpass it! The funds raised will go toward the purchase of more technology products (ipads, e readers, etc.) for our students and classrooms as well as fund other programs throughout the school. Thank you again for the amazing support!

Parents of students enrolling in Kindergarten 2013-2014:
Does your child have an interest in learning Spanish? If so, your child might be a candidate for Humble
Elementary’s Two-way Dual Language Program, “No Limits.” The program is designed to teach chil-dren a second language in a natural way through sub-ject content instruction and every day classroom con-versation.
What is the Two-way Dual Language Program?
The Two-way Dual Language Program teaches Span-ish and English to native and non-native speakers of English in a mixed group setting through literacy and the core content areas. The Dual Lan-guage program at Humble Elementary adheres to the 50/50 model which pro-vides 50% of instruction in Spanish and 50% of instruction in English. The goals of the program are to develop students who are bilingual, bicultural and bi-literate.
If you are interested in finding out more about the Two-way dual language program, please plan on at-tending one of the two parent informational meetings that will be held on:
Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in room 1005 at the Jim Eggers Instructional Support Center, 4810 Magnolia Cove Drive, Kingwood, TX 77345 and Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Humble Elementary, 20252 Fieldtree Drive, Humble, TX 77338.
