Thank you to Councillor Geoff McDonald, past Principal Mike Ludwig, Deputy Principal of Centenary State High School Ms Tracy Soward-Amalfi and our newly inducted Adopt-A-Cop Constable Darren Goodwin and our families for also being in attendance as invited guests to celebrate this great occasion for all. Class and Staff News As previously discussed we have been working with our current class structure as a result of the Day 8 total of 731 students. We currently have over allocated classes in our Year Five cohort (classes of 30 and 29 students) and the Year Four M class was under allocated (16 students). As a result the Year Four M class will become a composite class of Year Four and Five students from Monday the 13th of February 2017. Thank you to our families for considering and supporting this small change. In other class news, we are still working with Education Queensland to source a suitable replacement for our Year 2/3F class. Thank you to Mrs Julie Atikinson who is able to continue as the students’ teacher until a replacement is found.
School Parking: What’s that – I’m sounding like a broken record!!!! It was wonderful to see the Toowoomba Regional Council parking inspectors visit our school this week. This is in response to the numerous complaints that have been recently received at a school and council level. Please take care when parking around our school. We only want each and every member of our school community to be safe. They will continue to support our requests in the near future so please obey the street and parking signs – it’s your kids we are trying to keep safe.
Stay safe and cool this weekend everyone! Thanks Ben

There will be a special parade in the morning and students will be engaging in different cultural activities
throughout the day.
For Grades 3 – 6 students, the school has made arrangements with professional cultural performers to
present various cultural activities including traditional dances and musical performances. This is an
excellent opportunity for your child to engage in and be part of this vibrant and colourful celebration.
Cost per student : $6.50 Permission letters will be sent out in the coming weeks.
If you or your child would like to perform a cultural item at the special parade on that day, please contact
Mrs San H. Tay at 46177333 or email stay4@eq.edu.au.
