Knowledge is a tree, technologies are fruits
Structure of technology(1) Hardware : Physical structure or logical layout. This is
the means to carry out required tasks.
(2) Software : The set of rules, guidelines, and algorithms. This
is know-how to carry out tasks.
(3). Brainware : Deploying the hardware / software in a particular
way. This is the know-what and know-why oftechnology.

Politics .. is the process by which groups
of people make decisions.The term in generally applied to
behavior within civil government.
Political power( imperium- in Latin) is a type of powerheld by a group in a society which allows administration of
some or all of public resources, including labor, and wealth.

Hard Power -Assets (tanks, soldiers, aircraft, naval vessels, etc.).
Hard power refers to coercive tactics : the threat oruse of armed forces, economic pressure or sanctions,
assassination etc..
Soft power -
- Does not necessarily have to involve the active
use of military forces in combat.
- Means of exercising Soft Power include diplomacy,
dissemination of information, analysis, propaganda,
and cultural programming to achieve political ends.
Smart power - .. the ability to obtain what you want through cooperation and
attraction rather than Hard & Soft.

Great power - in historical, the term great power refers the nations thathave strong political, cultural and economical influence.

Middle power - Second tier influential states that could not be describedas great power. ( Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Japan, India, Italy,

Communist Party Congress that China needed to increase its softpower, and the American Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
spoke of the need to enhance American soft power .
