Make sure to look through all your reports and take careful notice of any lines of credit you did not open.

This is the first step for recovering your score once the damage has been done.
Just be sure you get the report number from them, because you will need this when you have to call up the various bureaus and creditors.
Get in touch with the lenders
Once you have a list of lenders, you must start contacting them to let them know immediately what has happened. You might want to call them, as well as send them a letter. Attach the police report with the letter for further proof.
