Our goal for 40 Days of Love is for us to become more loving.

If you don’t want to waste your life you have to focus it.

God put you here on earth to learn what is important:

1. To learn to love God 2. To learn to love other people

Life is about relationshipsQ. What is involved in relationships?

Mark 12:30-31 Jesus said the most important commandments is,

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul, and all your mind and all your

strength. And love your neighbor as yourself.

There are no commands more important thanthese.”

God put you on earth for 60, 70, 100 years so you can learn how to love.

“Three Laws of Love”

1. The best way to live your life is to love.

2. The best expression of love is time.

3. The best time to love is now.

1. The best way to live your life is to love. a. Love validates my identity. (I am of Christ)

Love proves that you are a member of God’s family.

1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God,

because God is love.

1 John 4:20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot

love God, whom he has not seen.

1. The best way to live your life is to love.b. Love covers my sin and the sin of others.

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because

love covers over a multitude of sins.

It means once I’ve been forgiven, God gives me the power to forgive others.

1 Cor. 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and

love. But the greatest of these is love.

It’s the only thing in your life that is going to last. Everything else you do is temporary.

1 Cor. 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels,

but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

[2] If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. [3] If I give all I possess to

the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Life is about relationships

Our goal is to learn that today. Not when you die.

When we die maybe God will ask us these questions;

Did you learn to love Me with all your heart? Did you learn to love everybody else?

Tell me about your relationships.

Love = T-I-M-E

1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or

tongue but with actions and in truth.

Love in action - quality time you spend with people

How do you make time for the people who love you?

Suggestion: turn off the TV and the computer. Average person sits in front of the television or

video screen or computer working or playing, 6 hours a day.

LOVE MATTERS MOST

42 hours a week = 2,184 hours in 1 year in front of a screen.

The issue: People watch somebody else’s family instead of the reality of their own family.

LOVE MATTERS MOST

Ephes. 5:15-18 Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, [16] making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

[17] Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

LOVE MATTERS MOST

Make the most of every opportunity because;

Kids grow up (empty nest) Circumstances change

People die

Do it now because people are starving for attention.

LOVE MATTERS MOST

Question:

Who do you need to show love to today? Who do you need to go and share a word of

encouragement and love? Will you visit somebody at home or at the

hospital? Who is it at your work that everybody can’t

stand but needs massive dose of love?

Life is about relationships

Our goal is to learn that today. Not when you die.
