• Although there are fewer non-metals than metals, they have a lot of important uses

Metals or non-metal?

• Jasmine, Becca and Ryan have different ideas about how to decide which of these elements are non-metals and which are metals

• Jasmine suggests putting all the solids in one group as all metals are solid, the others are then non-metals

• Ryan thinks we should put all the conductors in one group as metals conduct heat well. All the others will be non-metals

• Becca disagrees and thinks that those that conduct electricity are metals so the others are non-metals
