Instrumental Music Concert Parents and students are invited to the Hall this afternoon 4th July at 3.30pm for an Instrumental Music Showcase of our students. The concert will go for approximately 45 minutes. All welcome.
Reports
Reports are now being prepared and will be available for collection from your child’s teacher on Thursday the 4th July.
Mobile Phones at School
Our mobile phone policy for East Fremantle Primary School requires that students bringing phones to school must switch them off on arrival at school, keep them in their bag (or hand to their teacher) and not switch them on again until 3pm. Students are not to ring or text parents during the school day if they are sick/forgot homework/arrange play dates or for any other reason. Communication with parents during the school day must be via the class teacher or administration staff. We would really appreciate parent support for this policy. It is difficult to police and without your support we will not be able to enforce the non-use of phones during the school day.
Kindergarten Enrolments for 2020
Our Kindergarten enrolments for 2020 are still open. Please see the office for information regarding the application process. Kindy applications close 26th July 2019.
Current Kindergarten students enrolling into Pre-Primary for 2020 have now received a letter from their Kindy teacher regarding the enrolment process. Students coming into Pre-Primary will have to show evidence of where they are currently residing at this time. Due to the large number of students in this year level we will be unable to accept students that are not residing within our local intake boundary.
Wishing all families a very happy and safe term break. Take the time to get well, rest and recuperate for a return to school on TUESDAY the 23rd July.
Warm Regards,
Jenni Chittick
Principal

DERBY DAY FUNDRAISER—FRIDAY 5TH JULY 2019
Tomorrow the Year 6 Fundraising Committee are holding another Derby Day Fundraiser. A gold coin donation is requested and will be collected by the Year 6 students tomorrow morning.
We will be fundraising for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, the charity of the Fremantle Dockers, as it is their home game, hosting the West Coast Eagles.
We will also be holding a cake stall in the undercover area at recess in the
hope of raising more funds for the starlight children’s foundation. All the goodies will be between 50c—$3. Please remember to give the kids some coins.
The fundraising Committee looks forward to your continued support.
OUTSTANDING STUDENT VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION AND CHARGES
A note has been posted home to parents as a reminder of the UNPAID voluntary contributions and charges for various students across the school.
If these outstanding amounts could be finalised as soon as possible that would be wonderful and this will assist with the budgets for resources, kitchen garden, grounds maintenance, excursions and sporting events.
If you would like to part pay the outstanding amounts that is not a problem. Please see me to arrange this. I thank those parents who have paid these vital charges and fees, the school appreciates your continued support.
Kind Regards,
Tracey-Anne Simpson

YEAR 6 EXPLOITS
What a busy term it has been for the Year 6 students.
At the beginning of term we went into Fremantle and took photos of historic buildings. We then used
these photos to sketch the buildings in order to enter the Gwenyth Evans Art Awards. Last night was
the opening of the exhibition in the Moore’s Gallery where drawings and paintings were on display
from 5 schools. We were lucky enough to have 5 students recognised for their efforts.
Puri Robinson and Arielle Vykopal are the winners of the $80 gift vouchers and award certificates
Alba Chambers-Farre, Eva MacDonald and Rose Macleod - Honourable mentions.
We also visited the Fremantle Prison in preparation for entering an advertising competition with The
West Australian. We have some amazing entries - they will be displayed in the Plympton Hall
tomorrow.
Today we had the culmination of our Asian country studies with a luncheon planned and prepared by
the students and their parents. There were some very ‘interesting’ food choices.

YEAR 3 DONATIONS TO OPERATION SUNSHINE
A collection of donations have collected from the Year 3
families for Operation Sunshine. Primarily they were
looking to donate items for Sunshine Packs going to
kids in need across WA.
The donations were picked-up last week & we had 11
families from both rooms put together a very generous
collection of goods including 5 complete backpacks and
4 shopping bags brimming with clothes, toys, toiletries,
books and stationery to go into future Sunshine Packs.
