Visit In New England
While many people like to travel abroadduring the summer, there’s no reason toavoid traveling in the fall. With thechanging of the leaves, fall is a beautifultime to explore just how incrediblenature can be, and one of the bestregions of the U.S. to observe this is theNew England area. Here are a few of thebest Fall destinations in New England:
1) MOUNT DESERTISLAND, MAINE
While typically we think of foliage as something we see in aforest, Mount Desert Island has the additional advantage ofbeing, well, an island. You can take in the lush foliage while alsoenjoying the vista of the sea in the backdrop. Mount DesertIsland is home to Acadia National Park, which is an ideal locationfor camping, hiking, or just plain relaxing.
2) LITCHFIELD HILLS,CONNECTICUT
If you want to visit a rustic town with spired churches and coveredbridges, Litchfield Hills is the perfect northwestern Connecticuttown to satisfy your travel bug. There are also tranquil lakes, andplenty of opportunity to go shopping and antiquing.
3) FRANCONIANOTCH STATE PARK,NEW HAMPSHIRE
Have you ever dreamed of riding a tram and watching the incrediblefoliage pass by? If you weren’t dreaming of that before, I’ll bet you are now.At this New Hampshire State Park, you can make that dream a reality asyou ride the Cannon Mountain “aerial tramway,” the country’s firstenclosed cable car of its kind. The tram makes an eight-minute trip andtravels more than 2,000 feet vertically for a view that will take your breathaway. This state park is filled with gorges, waterfalls, and other stunningviews of nature.
4) NORTH ADAMS,MASSACHUSETTS
Massachusetts is filled with opportunities to see the beautiful fall leaves,from Walden Pond, to Cape Cod to the Berkshires. But the WesternMassachusetts town of North Adams is an especially stunning travellocation. As you drive up to North Adams you will see rolling hills and ThePorches Inn, a quaint boutique hotel with an outdoor hot tub. North Adamsis also home to Mass MOCA, a contemporary art museum set in anindustrial, light-filled space.
5) GREENSBORO,VERMONT

The recent revival in tourism to in Greensboro is largely thanks JasperHill Farm, which produces award-winning cheese, and Hill Farmstead,which is popular among brew aficionados. In addition to being an epicenterof food and drink, Greensboro has a number of boutique bed andbreakfasts.
6) LITTLE COMPTON,RHODE ISLAND
Little Compton is a peacefully rustic counterpart to to the posh mansions ofnearby Newport. Little Compton is filled with shingled-summer homes andbeaches. It is complete with farms, vineyards, a nature preserve, and highquality clam shacks.
