Students will..*create a brochure examinning one of the reasons the amendment in the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution *restate the meaning of the amendment and include a current event or illustration that exemplifies the amendment assigned*create a comic strip showing life without the amendment, demonstrating knowledge of the amendment and its effects on our culture

Students analyze the political principles underlying the U.S Constitution and compare the enumerated and implied powers of the federal government.

Often called “the Father of the Constitution”Crafted the Bill of Rights that was debated

and approved in 1791

Guarantee the rights of citizens of the United States

To protect Americans from the abuses of the federal government

Several states made this a condition for ratification

The Bill of Rights contain many of the rights that we think of as American freedoms

An opportunity to inform and empower the people.
