A Brief OverviewRebecca Ayami Jensen

My name is Rebecca Jensen. You’re probably wondering who I really am and what I really do.

They say introductions work well with ice breakers.

1. Learning about wine is my new favorite hobby. 2. In 4th grade, my orthodontist made me wear headgear to

school.3. To reduce my carbon footprint, I take the bus to school

everyday.4. I only played Fantasy Football this year so that I

could better understand my boyfriend. And I had Drew Brees.

Allow me…

3 Truths, 1 Lie.

But really, this is me today.

And this is where I want to be 20 years

from today.

You’re probably thinking…

With all that wine and dancing-

there’s no way.

QuickTime™ and a decompressor

are needed to see this picture.

False.

My job is to show why I am different.

I am different because of my experiences and interactions.

Here is a story of a woman traveling to 8 different places, learning 8 different lessons.

1. Some Black Market, Thailand

It was a family Christmas vacation to Thailand. Because they’re such a curious family, the five of them ended up wandering through a black market.

She got lost. No cell phone. Just lost, in a foreign country.

Lesson 1:Be a problem solver. Don’t let emotions keep you from being proactive.

2. Cal Poly Dance Studio, CAThe entire puzzle is incomplete without that last piece. If she’s not there for the lifts, partnering, rehearsals, shows, or productions- she might as well quit.

Lesson 2:If you’re going to commit, commit. And be reliable.

3. France and Italy

14 day trip across France and Italy with three college students. On the fourth day, Tim almost missed the train to Milan because he didn’t write down or remember his departure time.

New ticket cost= 50 euros.

Lesson 3:Punctuality= 0 euros. Organization= 0 euros.

4. Shanghai, China

She was invited to tour China with her dance team at the age of 14. 80% of the other girls got sick because they were scared to eat the food.

Lesson 4:It’s a big world out there. It helps to be adaptive.

5. LEVEL Studios, CA

World class clients. Some of them competing against one another.

Lesson 5:Be careful what you say. Honor that trust.

6. London, England

While in London for a year, she met all kinds of people. Different origins, different languages, different religions, different hobbies- but somehow, she was still able to relate to each person she met.

Lesson 6:We’re all connected, and at the end of the day, our general wants and needs are not all that different.

7. Outback Steakhouse, HI

On top of her agency internship, she also picked up a second job as a bus boy at Outback in Honolulu, Hawaii. There’s no looking pretty- keep wiping, clearing, and picking up french fries off the ground.

Lesson 7:Payoff is nice when you work hard.

8. Kyoto, Japan

The locals are already staring at her because she looks different. Her key to being a little bit more normal? Bowing back. Taking off her shoes. Pouring her cup of tea last. Cleaning up after herself.

Lesson 8:Do your homework and remember your manners.

Now, you might be thinking, just who is that woman?

She’s the real me:

Truths:1. Learning about wine is my new favorite hobby. 2. In 4th grade, my orthodontist made me wear headgear to

school.3. I only played Fantasy Football this year so that I

could better understand my boyfriend. And I had Drew Brees.

Not the fake me:

Lie: To reduce my carbon footprint, I take the bus to school everyday.

(I actually ride my bike)

So there I am all summed up.
