Progress

http://werc.engr.uaf.edu/~sveta/SnowNet/:

Barrow on-line (Aug.08)

Imnavait on-line (Oct.08)

Site visits to date:Barrow(3); Imnavait(2)

Coordination-Integration

With G. Shaver & D. Bret-Harte on winter sublimation at Imnavait. With Taniel Uttal (NOAA-IASOA) on implementing snow measurements & instrumentation at Tiksi. With Mark Ivey (DOE-ARM) and Jessica Cherry (UAF) on hot plate precipitation gauges (Barrow). With Phil Marsh to obtain permits for implementation of instruments at Trail Creek Valley, Yukon Terr. With K. Suigiura to integrate IORGC (JAMSTEC) blowing snow instruments at Barrow site.

Future Plans

Continue snow measurements through May.Compute water balances at Barrow and Imnavait for 2007-2008 season with error analysis. Build instrumentation for expansion to Canada.Assess hot plate sensor and decide to use/not use.Construct rotating sonic sounder.Interface AON-Snow-Net work with NOAA efforts on precipitation in Alaska
