Context
• Cebu-based development NGOs lack research capabilities, research components are marginalized
• Academic research does not specifically address development theory and practice
• There is a disconnect between development NGOs and academic research
• Think Tanks/Research Institutes are mostly based in Manila
• There is a need to create a community of scholars/researchers and development practitioners that focuses on the South
What is A2D Project?
A2D Project is meant to be more than just a research group, but an initiative to create an environment for collective thinking and discussion to explore and communicate
perspectives of change in society.
To become the leading alternative think tank in the southern Philippines aimed at creating a more equitable, socially
inclusive and democratic environment through the advancement of civic driven
initiatives
