Wheels with apreformed shape, such as a bevel or radius thatclosely conforms to the part, reduces the break-inperiod. The addition of slots to the cutting surfaceof a wheel increases fluid flow, which can enhancethe cutting action, resulting in improved part ge•ometry. Slots are available on the face of cylindersand cups for flat and spherical surface finishing orin an equally spaced longitudinal pattern aroundthe periphery of internal wheels.

ABRASIVE BELTSMicro-Surface Finishinl? Products Inc., Wilton, Iowa

Micro-mesh cushioned abrasive belts are engi•neered to reduce or eliminate buffing steps re•quired while providing a mirror finish. Micro•mesh is long-lasting and very flexible. Theabrasive grains float on a thin, resilient layerplaced on a cloth backing. Unlike common coatedabrasives, the abrasive crystals are not fixed inposition and cut without fracturing. This producesa fine consistent scratch pattern.
