Accessing Journal Databases

Access the Journal DatabasesmyUniHub > My Study > My Library

Choose ‘Databases’ from the list.

You will now see our list of journal databases

Journal databases provide access to journal articles, but many also contain book chapters, conference proceedings, standards, reports etc

Initially you will be taken to ‘Databases A’ i.e. all the databases beginning with the letter ‘A’

It is important to set the Library Cookie

Set the Library Cookie on your own computer/laptop to improve access to available full-text articles, papers, and books etc.

Simply click on ‘Middlesex University Cookie’

To see a list of databases relevant to a particular subject….

….click on one of these subject headings eg. Computing Science…

….and a list or computer science specific journal databases will be displayed

To access an individual journal database….

….click on the relevant letter i.e. the 1st letter of the name of the database eg. ‘I’ for IEEE Xplore. A new list of databases will open.

Click on the title of the journal database that you want to open……

….then click on ‘Enter database here’If you access the database via MyUniHub > MyStudy > MyLibrary then you should not be asked to log on. If you are, then see next slides.

You may see this screen when you try to access a database. If you do then…

….type ‘Middlesex’ here and then select ‘Middlesex University’ from the list....

…..you will then be asked to log in…..….click on ‘Go to the Middlesex University login page’....

….then use your computer network/UniHub username and password to login in.
