How do we support all learners ?33% learners in part-time education

- 80% of these in employment

- 66% have family commitments

10% all learners have special educational needs

Much diversity in class participants, ie:

• Not confident in class

• Struggles taking notes

• Is resitting this one module

• Bored by the subject

• Is considering dropping out

• Finds it all too easy

• English isn’t her first language

• Absent, part-time student

• Absent, on placement

• Absent, gone to the dentist

• Absent, attending a conference

How do we support all learners ?

• Space constraints

• Limited timetabled opportunities

• Expensive, non-standardised facilities

• Difficult to engage with large groups

• Difficulty tracking learning

• Limited and late feedback

• Narrow range of pedagogies

• Homogenous learning experience

• Physical presence is required
