n Meet with your advisor at least once per quarter
n Explore majors based on your values, interests and skills
n Get involved on campus
n Learn about Global Honors and Study Abroad programs
n Take the Strong Interest Inventory/Strengths Quest assessments
EXPLORE: SOPHOMORE YEAR
n Meet with your advisor to narrow down the number of majors you are considering— also consider a possible minor
n Consider registering for TUNIV 250 (Husky Success Quest)
n Understand requirements for desired major

ACADEMIC ADVISING CENTER IS LOCATED IN GWP 102
ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
n Provide a safe and respectful space for students to understand and appreciate their skills, interests, values and goals
n Help students become aware of and utilize campus resources and opportunities; explain relevant university policies and procedures
n Partner with students to help clarify their major interest and to understand the requirements for intended major
n Assist students with appreciating the connection between higher education and lifelong learning
n Listen carefully to student questions and concerns while maintaining confidentiality
n Encourage responsibility as students shape their educational plans and pursue their academic trajectory
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
n Arrive at appointments on time, prepared with questions and/or topics for discussion
n Outline goals and steps to achieve them each quarter
n Learn to use and understand your degree audit report (DARS)
n Be involved in the advising process by being prepared to discuss your goals and educational plans at appointments with your advisor
n Accept responsibility for the decisions and actions (or inactions) that affect your educational progress
n Understand that you have the ultimate responsibility for fulfilling requirements
