Architects(AIAFlorida)ExecutiveDirectorVickiLong,Hon.AIA,CAEwasawardedthe2017LeadershipAwardbytheCouncilofArchitecturalComponentExecutives(CACE)atitsannualmeetinginPortland,Oregonlastweek.Additionally,AIAFloridaCOORebeccaWilsonMagdaleno,CAEwaselectedPresidentElectofCACEfor2018.

VickiLong,Hon.AIA,CAEwaspresentedwiththe2017ComponentLeadershipAwardinrecognitionofheroutstandingleadershipinstatelegislativeandregulatoryaffairs,andformentoringnewtalentinthearenaovermanyyears.LonghasbeenaleaderwithinCACEandAIAservingasCACEPresident,Boardmember,andonmanytaskforcesandcommittees.InJuly,shewasinductedasthe2017/2018ChairoftheFloridaSocietyofAssociationExecutives,anorganizationofassociationexecutiveswithover1000membersinanindustrywithaneconomicimpactofapproximately$3.7billionstatewide,accordingtoarecentstudy.

LonghasservedastheexecutivevicepresidentandCEOofAIAFloridasince2004.SheisapastpresidentoftheCouncilofArchitectureComponentExecutives(CACE)andhasservedonAIA’sExecutiveCommitteeandBoardofDirectors.

RebeccaMagdaleno,CAEwaselectedtothepositionofPresident-electfor2018andCACEPresidentfor2019.MagdalenowasrecentlypromotedtochiefoperatingofficerafterservingasdirectorofadministrationforAIAFloridasince2011.DuringhertimeatAIAFlorida,shehasoverseenthedevelopmentofthelocalcomponentmanagementprogram,throughwhichsheservesasexecutivedirectorforAIAPalmBeachandAIAFloridaNorthwestinadditiontoprovidingservicestofiveotherlocalcomponentsinthestate.Magdaleno'sexperienceincludespoliticalconsulting,campaignmanagement,fundraising,andservingasavicepresidentatastatewideassociation.SheisagraduateofFloridaStateUniversity,whereshewasinductedintoPhiBetaKappaandtheSeniorHallofFame.
