Introduction
Project overviewLocation of the new Al Ansar Hospital (“AH”)
The Project involves designing, financing, developing, equipping, maintaining and operating (including clinical operations) AH public hospital and associated facilities in Madinah for the MoH which will primarily be an emergency hospital for the pilgrims and will eventually replace the existing Al Ansar hospital (“Project”).
The main functions of the Project will include emergency department, a heart stroke facility, an emergency medical inpatient, an emergency surgery inpatient area, an intensive care unit and outpatient clinics.

BackgroundThe MoH is the largest healthcare provider in KSA owning and operating 274 hospitals in the KSA out of a total of 470 as of year 2017.
The MoH conducted studies to explore the areas it can improve to increase its efficiency to operate the existing network of public hospitals and to develop new public hospitals.
Accordingly, in order to facilitate efficient development of new public hospitals and bring the partially constructed public hospitals online as soon as possible, the Hospitals Commissioning PSP Initiative has been initiated by the MoH.
