The boss lambasted his employees when he received a bad report, and fired them when they were found slacking off, making popcorn in the employees office.

IMPASSENOUN- A SITUATION WHEN NO PROGRESS IS POSSIBLE.

As money was running out, the new house was becoming impasse, causing a divorce.

JARGONNOUN- SLANG

In this generation, people use jargon when talking to each other, and also when texting.

DETERVERB- PREVENT, BLOCK

As time runs out, the players try their best to deter any shots by the opposing team, so they can win the game.

TENUOUSADJ- WEAK, THIN

Both lawyers wanted to win the case, but towards the end the gentlemen's argument was becoming tenuous, ending with 10 years in jail.

VIGOROUSADJ- ENERGETIC, POWERFUL

While at the beach, the vigorous sun was beating down on us throughout the day, causing us to burn.

The amity between us was jeopardized when I had to move out the city we grew up in, however, we will still keep in contact.

In order for a contestant to win, they have to be emphatic with their singing skills, and also impress America.

Shakespeare’s famous play, Romeo and Juliet, showed a lot of vehement scenes between Romeo and Juliet, which made people so interested in his plays.

As the presidents preeminent work was shown, he received a lot of credit, and was rewarded with a new task.

RESURGENCENOUN- REBIRTH

We've noticed this resurgence over the past couple of years in our backyard, and it’s to much for me to manage, so I’m considering moving again.
