DOUBLE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION

Owners of homestead property will receive a second $25,000 homestead exemption on the assessed value of the homestead between $50,000 and $75,000 on the value of their homes over $50,000.

The average savings to Seminole County homestead property owners will be $230.

* This exemption will not apply to school property tax levies.

Previous Home Valued @ $400,000 - Previous Home Assessed @ $200,000 (Save Our Homes Value); New Home Valued @ $500,000 - $200,000 (Transferred Save Our Homes Value) = $300,000 (New Assessed Value for new home)
