THE PROJECT TIMINGRES received planning consent. We are now in the pre-construction phase of the project and RES has partnered
with RCR (RCR O’Donnell Griffin) who will construct the solar park. Construction will start Q4 2017 of this
year and take around 12 months. The solar plant will be operational in Q4 of 2018.
BENEFITING LOCAL BUSINESSWith 150+ jobs being added to the local economy,

HOW SOLAR WORKSSolar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roofs of
homes, businesses and solar farms use energy
from the sun to generate electricity cleanly
and quietly. The conversion of sunlight into
electricity takes place in cells of specially
fabricated semiconductor crystals.
THE LOCATIONThe site is is currently in agricultural use
and located immediately west of Emerald,
approximately 1.2km north of the Capricorn
Highway and will not be not visible from the
town. There will be no impact to surrounding
irrigation infrastructure during construction
or operation.
