What is voices
VOICES is a Big Lottery funded project
which works with young people aged 12
-18 years to develop an understanding
of domestic abuse, deliver preventative
education work around healthy &
unhealthy relationships and give young
people a safe place to have their voices
heard.
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS? THE RELATIONSHIP IS BASED ON POWER AND CONTROL AND CAN INCLUDE:
• Unpredictable behaviour
• Isolation
• Emotional abuse
• Physical & sexual abuse
• Force & threats
• Shame & blame
• Lies
• Checking your phone / computer
unhealthy relationships
• Have low self-esteem
• Have symptoms of depression and/or anxiety
• Binge drink, take drugs, smoke
• Have eating disorders
• Self-harm and/or have suicidal thoughts
• Have poor attendance and achievement in school
• Have STI’s
