• Doodles: Pop up Children’s Book

Doodles was born in this year summer. I wrote this story after a lot of reading and exploring children's book. William Joyce, Maurice Sendak, Quentin Blake were my favourites. The story was inspired from a book called “Let’s draw a story” from Illustration school. This book also became my undergraduate thesis project. Couple of spreads were designed to be pop ups so as to make this book interactive. I have written, designed and Illustrated this book.

During my recent thesis show some of visiting publishers had showed interest. My 5 year old niece was delighting to see and hear the book. I do plan to develop this further into an augmented reality pop up book app for children.

Next few pages would show you some illustrations/ spreads. One of the illustrations has images to explain the process I followed to finish these images.

• Leonard Cohen (Magazine Spread)

A four page magazine spread designed for Leonard Cohen on his 82th birthday. This spread was designed couple of days before he died.

• Play with Letters : Exploring the typeface Bodoni

A small book to explore a single typeface. It was opportunity to explore space, constructing layouts and embracing typeface. I love Bodoni and use it very often.

• An app to explore art in San Francisco chinatown

The project was conceptualised for Chinese Cultural Centre who are looking to reframe Chinatown. Chinatown in San Francisco is a host to more number of tourists than any other tourist attraction in the city. CCC also commissions Street/ Mural Art, sculptures all over Chinatown.

A need to engage tourists with their culture, artwork and various attractions gave birth to an idea of forming an app that could be used by their visitors irrespective of their background. An intensive research was made for various available and upcoming murals, artists, how did they come about, their meaning and their locations. Tour routes were suggested on the basis of the data. An option of audio tour and augmented reality completed the concept.

The idea right now exists in CCC office. If approved would be polished further in accordance with their website.

• Katipatang (Cut Kite )

India has a long tradition of kite festival that represents the dawn of winters. Flying kites is a common activity among kids and adults in small towns. During ite festival competitions are organized. Whoever cuts the maximum number of kites is a winner.

This picture book shows the story of a kite (the pink shape) that plays with the kite of different sizes. It defeats all others and emerges as a winner among all.

Coloured kite paper is used in different shapes and sizes.

This Picture Book has a graphical representation of the story. The shapes in the book represent different sizes of Kites but not the actual shape of them.. This picture book was designed to be a companies brochure/ information book.
