EXHIBITORS PLEASE READ THESE COVID-19 REGULATIONS
• THE ANNAPOLIS KENNEL CLUB will comply with all CDC, Federal, State of
Maryland, Howard County Health Department, and Howard County Fairgrounds
rules and guidelines regarding COVID-19.
• THE OCTOBER 2021 ANNAPOLIS KENNEL CLUB SHOWS are closed to the
public.
• NO SPECTATORS are allowed in exhibit buildings.
• EXHIBITORS IN A COVID-19 high risk group should follow their doctor's advice on
attending the shows.
• COOPERATION WITH ALL club members, event committee members, RV parking
personnel, superintendent and fairgrounds staff is mandatory.
• NO PUBLIC SEATING will be available.
• ARMBANDS must be picked up at designated tables. There will be no catalogs at
the armband tables or at ringside.
• SHOW CATALOGS may be purchased at the club table in the Main Exhibition Hall.
• ALL JUDGING WILL BE SHOW AND GO. Ringside crating will be available in
designated areas only. The ringside area will be available for final prepping 30
minutes before your breed is being judged. Please be mindful of other exhibitors
by adhering to the 30-minute rule. When excused, exit ring by the designated exit,
take all equipment and leave the area
• NO DOG MAY BE LEFT overnight in any exhibit building.
• REGULATIONS MAY BE CHANGED AT ANY TIME. Latest version will be
available in the judging program or upon entry to the Fairgrounds.

I agree that I am attending the Annapolis Kennel Club, Inc. Dog Shows entirely at my own risk
and take full responsibility for my own health and safety during these events. I will follow all
rules, requirements, procedures, protocols and guidelines of the American Kennel Club (AKC)
and all AKC dog clubs participating in the shows to reduce any exposure and possibility of
contracting or spreading the virus. I will follow CDC, Federal, State of Maryland, Howard
County Health Department, and Howard County Fairgrounds rules and guidelines regarding
COVID-19.
I fully submit that the AKC, all AKC clubs holding these events, Rau Dog Shows, Kiarry
Enterprises, all other contracted staff, Howard County Fairgrounds and their employees, and
all workers or volunteers, are in no way liable for any present or future COVID-19 exposure
incurred at any time by any person, in attendance or not in attendance, during or after these
events, and hereby waive all rights to file a lawsuit against the above if I am exposed to or
contract COVID-19.
By entering/attending these shows, all exhibitors/attendees agree to all regulations
contained within this waiver. Exhibitors/attendees may also be required to sign a
waiver upon entrance to the Fairgrounds.

AKC National Owner-Handled Series
The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by theirowners that are not professional handlers.Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry on the entry form. Dogsentered in the Amateur-Owner-Handler class will automatically be marked as eligible to compete in theNOHS. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the judge's book, steward's book & the catalog. Dogsmust be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner.Professional handlers*, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may notexhibit the dog in any NOHS competition.
Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breedcompetition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes.
If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically beOwner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in the regular as well as theOwner-Handled Group.
If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not Owner-Handled competition eligible and the Best of Opposite toBest of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to the Best of Breed/Variety will competeagainst the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine the Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety.
If neither the Best of Breed/Variety nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are Owner-Handledcompetition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose BestOwner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch.
If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex andthen choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including theeligible Winners.
If Best of Breed/Variety, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not eligible,the judge may choose any eligible dog remaining in the ring including Winners Dog or Winners Bitchas Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety.
If the Best of Winners is eligible, the other Winner is ineligible since it was defeated.
*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers'organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselveas handling dogs forpay or received payment for handling a dog.

RAMP INFOA judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior tojudging. AKC approval is not required.The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table or ramp).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through alllevels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Clumber Spaniel, English Springer Spaniels,Field Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft CoatedWheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Chinese Shar-Pei, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhunds, PolishLowland Sheepdogs and Norrbottenspets (Misc).
At the discretion of the judge the following breed may be judged on the table or on a ramp through all levelsof competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, thefollowing breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets.
The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: BassetHounds, Bulldogs and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation doingshows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, JuniorShowmanship, the 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series(NOHS), and all other special attractions that offers Group and BIS competitions.
Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any ground breed. In an emergency situation, whereuse of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry andreceiving a refund.For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds.

JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION ~ SAT. & SUN.
AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may
be obtained from the American Kennel Club - PHONE: (919) 233-9767.

Entry blank MUST be filled out with the necessary information, otherwise the entry in Junior
Showmanship will not be accepted.
NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old on the day
of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competition present,
in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15 years old on
the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competition
present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
NOVICE SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years and under 18 years old on the day
of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competition present,
in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old on the day of
the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in a
Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15 years old on
the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition
present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years and under 18 years old on the day of
the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in a
Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
MASTER CLASS: This class will be for Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on
the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will
be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria
for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if
entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return
to the Open Class to compete for the following year.
