Academic Content Academic Content Standards Standards

Goal:“Help Kids Learn & Help Teachers Teach”

INFOhio's Core Collection of Electronic Resources by Grade Band - K-5 | 6-8 | 9-12

Learning Activities are short, designed for about ten minutes of student time on task. Each relates to an Ohio Academic Content Standard indicator statement and is based on an essential question.

NEOMIN Library Records & Curriculum Standards Integration Project

Goal:

To enrich all bibliographic records by aligning library materials (books, videos, etc) to specific state and national curriculum

standards in Social Studies, Language Arts, Science, and Math.

NEOMIN Library Records & Curriculum Standards Integration Project• Tier 1 – Lowest training level (Librarian & Teachers)• Tier 2 – Utilize Follett’s alignment resources• Tier 3 – Outsource MARC records to vendor

INFOhio is excited about this project!!!

Tier 1 – Lowest training level (Librarian & Teachers)

1. NEOMIN will train library staff on how to create the 658 tag in the MARC record.

2. NEOMIN will follow INFOhio’s Academic Content Standard Alignment Rubric.

3. Workshops for teacher/librarian participation?

Tier 1Discussion

Tier 2 – Train on Follett Curriculum Alignment Tool

1. NEOMIN will train library staff on how to use Titlewave to align their library materials to curriculum standards.

2. NEOMIN will encourage those libraries that do no use Titlewave to use Follett Educational Resources website.

3. Workshops for library staff? Teacher review on library staff time?

Tier 2Discussion

Tier 3 – Outsource MARC Records to Vendor

1. NEOMIN will investigate using EdGate’s Correlation Services, or another vendor, to enrich MARC records. This is a paid service.

2. NEOMIN will investigate incorporating EdGate’s iFlash technology on their website to allow the searching of library catalogs. (WorldBook uses EdGate’s services)

3. Initial review of records by User Groupteam?
