Time Line:Step 1: August• Initial Planning Meeting with

Science Teachers • Locate a place in the community

that is central to your school – We chose the Civic Center – BOOK IT – you will need 2 days.

Step 2: August/September• Teaching the inquiry process –

Students are told about the upcoming expo and given the expectations/categories. Science Research Proposal should be completed and due by the end of September.

Step 3: October/November• Bi-weekly Log Book Checks • Math teachers are working on graphing

and data interpretation• Language teachers are working on citing

sources of information and abstracts • Social studies can help students with

the research elements of the projectStep 4: November/December• In-house student gallery walk• Begin final preparations for the

All Teachers Should Serve

The Event:• Day Before – •Projects are taken to the location•Hospitality room is set up•We asked the art teacher to display nature art created by students•Signs are placed

• Day of the Event• Judging from 8-2:30•Students reported to their projects at 6:15•Open to public from 6:15-6:45•Ceremony at 7:00•Following the ceremony students removed the projects

Students set up their own projects and complete 2 judging sheets
