Art!

• Work in groups of 2.• One person is O, one person is X.• Take turns saying sentences using one or more of the

words in the grid.• When you say a sentence mark it using either O or X.• The first person to mark all the words wins.

Museums should return pieces of art to the country of origin.

• These masks where taken from a native American tribe in the 1930’s.• A French auction house started selling them on Friday.• The tribe want the masks to be returned to them but a French court

ruled that they can be sold.• The most expensive mask is estimated to be worth 50000 Euros.

Anything can be art.

• My bed by Tracy Emin is her bed as it was after she didn’t get up for 3 days because she was depressed about a breakup.

• It was nominated for the Turner prize and she sold it for £150000 to the Saatchi Gallery.

Public art is not a matter for the majority – people should simply cough up and stand back as talented artists indulge themselves

• When the Eiffel tower was built, lots of people were against it.

• They thought it would ruin the beauty of Paris’ skyline.

• Now it is considered one of the most beautiful places in the world.

• The B of the Bang in Man-chester was chosen partly by the public.

• It opened in 2006 but had to be taken down only 3 years later.

Graffiti is art.

Banksy is a graffiti artist from the U.K.His non Graffiti works have sold for up to $1,870,000.A house that he drew graffiti on has risen in value by 150000 pounds.
