VISION & MISSION
• Vision
Empowering hearing impaired and underprivileged children of Andhra Pradesh to use their innate capacities to reach their
optimum level of independent personal and professional life – thus transforming a large group of people depending on life-
long support from the State into a group of healthy positive contributors to the economy
• Mission
To create a congenial environment and comprehensive teaching program for the hearing impaired and underprivileged children which help them progress into becoming independent, self reliant and contributing citizens of the country

PROBLEM STATEMENT
• About 25,000 children are born with hearing impairment every year in India.An average of 2500 children are born with hearing impairment in A.P.
• Hearing Impairment is an unseen Disability
• Major problem is communication- Speech and Language
• Lack of adequate rehabilitation facilities
• Unable to access Higher education and deprived of employment opportunities
• Deafness is also both a cause and a consequence of poverty. Poverty and poor health services mean that more children become deaf in countries like India
PROJECT AREA
At present working in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India in three locations—Srinagar Colony & Chandrayangutta and Yakutpura in the Old City area of Hyderabad.
SPECIAL EDUCATION

1.Special education and rehabilitation facilities
2.Residential Facilities for children from outside Hyderabad

1. Number of children improving in speech and language. 2. Number of children joining main stream schools
3. Number of mothers turning out to be self dependent
EARLY INTERVENTION & AUDIO VERBAL TRAINING
Key activities:
1.Screening children with hearing impairment
2.Fitting of Hearing Aids
3.Counseling to the parents
4.Speech and Language Therapy
5.Training to mothers

• Geographical Reach
At present working in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India catering to the needs of urban/rural population of Andhra Pradesh and surrounding Districts.
Few students are from other parts of India too.

HISTORY OF THE ORGANIZATION
• Established in 1996 to provide a life of dignity to the Hearing Impaired Children
• Having a Hearing Impaired member in the family and realizing the plight of the disabled in the country was the driving force behind the establishment of the organization by the Founder-Director.
• The Organization started with just five children and now catering to 250 children
• The teaching methodology adopted was Aural Oral method of
teaching.

• 2010 Vocational Training Identifying the need for the employability of the deaf students organization
started Multimedia and Animation training
• 2010 Early Intervention services Identifying the need for the Language development during the critical age of 0-5 the services were kick started
• 2011 Two more branches in Hyderabad Recognizing the need in the old city of Hyderabad two branches
were started in Chandrayangutta and Yakutpura.

• Diagnostic facility in Government Hospitals to screen for hearing among new born babies.

CHALLENGES
Arriving at a revenue model for the organization is challenging.
Approaching several trusts, Corporates and Individuals for continuous support
The Disability does not evoke immediate support as it is invisible
Sensitization of the society regarding the plight of the Hearing Impaired
Identifying new donor as more support is being allocated for life threatening causes such as HIV, visible disabilities
Generating more awareness about the plight of the Hearing Disability
Getting trained manpower and their retention Developing mothers as teachers
Political Unrest in the state and donors fatigue at this moment
Sensitizing the donors about the needs of the organization
Providing right hearing Aids to the children as they are expensive
Putting efforts to provide right hearing aids in a phased manner
