Camera Shots.

Establishing Shot.

This is a establishing shot which is setting the scene of a busy garden with children toys and clothes hanging on the washing line.

Wide Shot.

The purpose of a wide shot is to focus on something and in this situation the purpose is to show what is on the table.

Long Shot.

This is a long shot showing a whole statue figure in a frame. The purpose of this shot is the show the whole object or person in this frame.

Mid/Medium Shot.

The purpose of this shot is to only focus on the upper half as it seems to the important aspect such as a conversation being taken at a table.

This is a close up shot of a plant. The purpose of this shot is to give a clearer idea of an object but not a detailed idea.

Close Up Shot.

Extreme Close Up.

This is an extreme close up shot of a leaf. The purpose of this shot is to show the details of the object.

Point Of View Shot. P.O.V

This is a P.O.V shot showing a person writing. The purpose of this is so that we can feel as if it is us as an audience writing.

The over the shoulder shot is used when a person is being shown to be powerful then to other or weaker than the other.

Over The Shoulder Shot.

Two Shot. The purpose of this shot is to get two objects or people into one frame. In this case it is two objects. This could be to show a relationship between two people or to show importance to two objects or also to show interior details of the set.

The overhead shot is used to show over an object or over a characters head to see what they are reading or writing. The purpose of this is to include the audience.

Overhead Shot.

Camera Angles.

High Angle.A high angle is to make a person or object seem less important and weak. I choose this statue because it is of a women crying so I thought that the angle would emphasis this.

The purpose of a low angle is to make the audience feel as if the object or person in the shot has a sense of power and importance. This is a person and could symbolise the importance of her character so by using this shot, it emphasises this idea.

Low Angle.

Canted Angle.

This camera angle makes what is a shot to appear tilted. This can be used to disorientate the audience.

Camera Movement.

Pan.Start.

End.

Panning to the left.

Pan is to show a 180 degrees pivoting movement. The purpose is to show all around because not all can fit in one frame.

Tilt.

Start. Tilting upwards.

End.

Tilt.

A tilt movement looks up or down at the object being photographed or filmed, instead of being on the same level. Tilt shots are usually more dramatic than straight-angle shots.

Track.Start.

End.

Track.

The term tracking shot may refer to any shot in which the camera follows a subject within the frame, such as a moving actor or a moving vehicle. This is because if one were to ran after the moving object or running person, the camera would be bouncing around.

Zoom.Start.

Zoom. When the camera lense goes in towards an object or character to reveal more significance or detail.

End.

Reverse Zoom.Start.

End.

Reverse Zoom.

This is the opposite to zoom. Instead of moving forwards you move backwards. The purpose of this to reveal more of the setting around the character.

This is when a camera move in and out or backwards and forwards on an object. Tripod on wheels. The purpose could be to create tension in a horror movie or just to feel more connection with a character.

Dolly.

Composition.

Shallow Focus.

Shallow focus is used when one object or person is in the frame but their surrounding is blurred. The purpose of this could be to show important, authority, strength or/and power.
