Asteroid Apophis

Scientist believe that an asteroid named Apophis will come very close to the earth on April 13th Friday 2029.

It will pass through an object in space called " The Keyhole". The Keyhole is a tiny region of space where a planet's gravity would alter the passing of an asteroid. Scientist believe in 2036 the asteroid will hit Earth.

What Will Happen

The asteroid will probably hit in the Pacific Ocean and cause a tsunami in California

The tsunami will cause a lot of damage in Santa Monica beach.

The explosion of the asteroid will be equal 2.5 megatons of TNT, or about 150 Hiroshima bombs.

How to Stop it

The scientist will try to stop it, but first they have to study what it is made of and it's exact shape.

They will try to stop it with a gravitational tractor which will speed up or slow down the asteroid's path.

A gravitational tractor is a spacecraft that deflects another object in space, typically an asteroid that might impact into earth.

Conclusion

In conclusion the human race may be in danger, but NASA is doing everything they can to stop the asteroid.
