BEN HECK builds an Atari 2600 style Xbox 360 portable console | watch the video

Ben starts the build using his own 1970’s Atari 2600 for styling tips!

Using Adobe Illustrator, Ben maps out the design for his retro Xbox laptop.

Taking an LCD monitor, Ben strips off the casing to get at the good stuff –which will form the screen for his Atari Xbox hybrid.

Next on the list, Ben needs to perform a lobotomy on a regular Xbox 360.

Using nothing more than brute force, Ben makes short work of ripping into the Xbox casing!

This is what he wanted. The guts of the Xbox laid out on Ben’s workbench.

Ben lays out the building blocks for the console.

Next, Ben uses his fancy cutting machine to create the casing for his retro games laptop.

And here’s the first part done! The console’s screen is put together.

Ben moves onto creating the base to house all those wires and boards.Note the 1970’s wooden panel styling on the front of the unit!

Bringing it all together. The various sections are all finished and just need fixing in place.
