• iPod + Broadcast = Podcast– Amateur radio– Podcasting is the method of distributing

multimedia files over the Internet using RSS syndication formats for playback on mobile devices and personal computers.

Why use podcasts?

• Podcasts enable students to share their knowledge and expertise with others through a creative outlet.

• Podcasts tap into a mode of media input that is commonplace for digital natives.

• Podcasts empower students to form relationships with the content and each other in relevant ways.

Player Controls

Play: If a subset of the time range is selected in the main window, only the selection will be played. If there is no selection, playback will begin wherever the editing cursor is.

Loop: Hold down Shift while pressing Play to loop the current selection, playing it over and over again until you click Stop.

Record: Recording begins at the current cursor location or at the beginning of the current selection but always creates a new track.

Stop: Stops playing or recording immediately.

Pause: Temporarily pauses playing or recording without losing your place.

Skip to Start: Move the cursor to the beginning of the audio. This is often useful if you want to play everything, or record a new track starting from the beginning.

Skip to End: Move the cursor to the end of the audio.

Click on the Download File link to save the audio file as an MP3.

Hit Record to start your narration.

Hit Pause to take a break and resume from the same stop or Stop to begin recording on a new audio layer.

Recording Audio

Editing AudioEdit out any gaps or mistakes in the audio by using the “Selection Tool”. Highlight the text that you do not want and hit the delete button on your keyboard.

File > Save Project As

Input the Title, Artist, and other data for the audio project.
